Starting pitcher Jacob Deacon went 5 1/3 innings, striking out nine, in the Knights first game of the 2025 HIT to earn the victory for Stratford. The Knights came away with a 9-6 victory over Loudoun, Virginia Monday evening at James Island Charter High School. Deacon got plenty of run support from the Knight bats. Jachin Davis led the Knights at the plate. The junior went 3-3 with two doubles, a HBP, and a solo HR. Bryce Herpolsheimer, Jarrett Wagner, and Walt Argett also had multiple hits on the evening. JQ Crobsy, Tripp Smith, and Jameson Lee also picked up hits for the Knights with Smith chipping in two RBI.
Davis would earn the save for the Knights on the mound. Stratford returns to action today in the 2025 HIT at 5 PM. The Knights will play at James Island Charter High School against Herndon, Virginia. Herndon won their first game 5-1 over Western Branch, Virginia.
With the win Stratford improves to (13-2-2) on the season. At the completion of the HIT, the Knights will jump back into region play at Berkeley on Monday, April 21st.
